Emotions!!!!……they fill all our real and virtual space of life and define our existence as
human beings. But the human brain is conditioned to prefer shortcuts and just like
everything in this universe, follows the principle of the ‘Law of conservation
of energy’. Therefore, it generally categorizes emotions into only two extreme
categories i.e. good or bad, totally ignoring the fact that ‘extremes’ are very
rare to find and can only be categorized as ‘exceptions’ NOT ‘generalizations’.
But like every emotion, the emotions that lie in the grey areas of this
classification like prejudices, hatred, bitterness, being green in envy are
often disregarded. But the feel of being left alone and contempt is equally
important as the feeling of being accepted and respected. Every feeling is
important and the thing which is even more important is, ‘To understand and accept our-self in all possible forms!’
Since,
nobody can ever critically judge us better than us therefore; just being the
way we are, doing whatever we feel like, living our life the way we want are
the only options left! Whenever we try a new thing which we have ever found
challenging and the ‘Not much strengthening’ kind, then also, we should not
hesitate to do it…...just by ensuring that the button of our emotional and
moral guidance system is switched ON for with freedom always comes the
responsibility! .Trusting our own guts and doing everything that we think we
can handle even if things go wrong is the best way we can lead our lives. It’s
just like riding a bicycle in a steep downslope but with the assurance that gears
are working well enough to control our pace.
We
should sometimes allow our-self to: Run away when we find a situation
unmanageable, to break some fatuous promises we unintentionally make to ourself and should also allow our-self to turn back so that it becomes easy to
find our way out if some day we find things unmanageable. Trying to always move
forward in life is a nice thing to do but also, it’s also sometimes good to be
flexible enough to stop for a moment and look back and peep into our own story
of the path we traveled!
It’s
okay to defend something when our heart says we should and it’s also okay to
not react over something even if everybody else (except us) thinks we should! ………It’s
okay to lay sluggish and spend whole Sunday in bed and celebrate a ‘pajamas-day’
but also, we should not forget to spend some Sundays out of our comfort zone
doing some crazy expeditions. Sometimes, we should not get afraid to lose
control…… It’s okay to expect something and bear the expectation of somebody
else for expectation is another form of trust…….It’s okay to feel sad, remember
a past loss, to not to forgive and also to be numb and remain emotionless, it’s
okay to not let things go,….. It’s okay to complain and weep... It’s okay to
not share our feelings! And also, it’s also perfectly fine to share our pain
with someone we feel like...It’s also okay sometimes to ‘NOT BE OKAY’!!! Everything
is okay till we are acting what we actually are and not what we actually should
be, want to be or should have been and are aware of the impact these emotions
have on us! Living life, like every activity in this Universe is just a matter
of practice. More we try and make mistake, more we learn and become skilled!
And in this process of finding new adventures of our emotions we also find some
of the realities of the universe. …and emotions………... although, sometimes they
distort reasoning, but all of them are basically alike and all we can do it is to
just allow us to feel them and then simply let them go!! :) :)
